This trip has been both refreshing and restorative.
Far removed from many obligations and a busy calendar,
the burden of appointments and activities lifted,
I’ve been able to relish and rest in the ordinary moments.
Oh sure, there is still lots of busyness and confusion caring for seven children,
but it’s buffered by calm serenity.
The sunrise here takes place ever-so-slowly,
as the sun struggles each morning to clear the vast mountains,
reaching upward into the sky.
And as it makes its ascent, it carefully, deliberately reveals all of His handiwork.
Everywhere, as far as the eye can see, breathtaking beauty.
I can’t help but be reminded of His presence…His glory, on a daily basis.
He is here…
in the soaring mountains and sloping hills,
in the vast blue-green lake that shimmers in the noon-day sun,
in the river cascading-white over multitudes of rocks,
in the hawks soaring effortlessly through brilliant-blue skies.
His magnificent presence causes me to worship, and fills my heart to full.
And finally, after a long dry run, it once again begins overflowing.
I am recharged and motivated to reach beyond what’s satisfactory and known.
He challenges me to live more boldly.
I question present habits, notions, and perspectives.
I recognize my inadequacy and pray that He would show me the way…
That He would break me free from stagnant complacency and move me into action.
That I would truly be the hands and feet of Jesus, showing His love to the hopeless.
Lord, This is my prayer.
“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.”
Romans 1:20
Kelly, just as you were overpowered and saturated by awe in the midst of the mountains and lakes, I had the same feeling thousands of miles away in Mexico, listening the mighty waves beating into the rock formations of Lover’s Beach or watching the humpback whales jumping freely in the middle of Pacific ocean.Unforgettable sunsets with localities folklore music
